Economist Dr. Mohd Yusof Saari explains that fuel demand extends far beyond civil servant commutes, driven largely by logistics, manufacturing, supply chains, and household mobility nationwide. He argues that addressing Malaysia’s deep, economy-wide dependence on fuel requires broader structural solutions rather than behavioural changes alone.
